Flickr rolls out beautiful slideshows for the iPad

Flickr recently rolled out a new slideshow photo-viewer for the iPad, enabling users to  flip through image galleries similar to how it’s done on the desktop. Prior to these improvements specifically designed for the iPad, users were limited to using iPad applications to browse through photography in a full-screen mode.

To active the new feature, users are required to select an image then touch the magnifying glass icon. While in the slideshow, the images are browsed by using a swipe gesture on the iPad’s screen.  It’s definitely a more elegant way to look through your friend’s photo streams however, the two step process needed to enter the lightbox-slideshow is somewhat annoying and should be activated immediately after selecting an image from a photo stream.
