Numeral raises $100m Series C for AI sales tax compliance
Numeral, a San Francisco startup that automates sales tax compliance with AI, has raised a $100m Series C led by Insight Partners. The round takes its total to $157m. Numeral says transaction volume on its platform grew 327% in a year, as California moves to extend sales tax to software.

Nscale's IPO filing leaves out its biggest customer. The Financial Times reports it was ByteDance, whose Singapore unit Spring brought in nearly three quarters of Nscale's 2025 sales. A loan exhibit shows the contract covered 2,304 Nvidia B200 chips in Norway.

OpenAI opens its Daybreak cyber defence programme to Ukraine
OpenAI will give Ukraine's government access to its Daybreak cyber defence programme, to help protect civilian infrastructure from attack. The BBC reports that the access is free and includes the GPT-5.6 Sol model. Ukraine's CERT-UA handled nearly 6,000 cyber incidents in 2025.
