As a matter of fact, we are now ready to dive even deeper into this booming startup scene, only a few weeks after announcing our decision to hold TNW conference in Latin America in São Paulo this August.
“This event was off the charts”
Gary Vaynerchuk was so impressed with TNW Conference 2016 he paused mid-talk to applaud us.
As you may know, we have already held successful editions of the TNW Startup Awards in Amsterdam, and our goal in Latin America won’t be any different; we will celebrate entrepreneurship, hot startups and great investors – and have a fun evening with beers and fun people.
In practical terms, the TNW Startup Awards let the public suggest nominees, and you can vote for your favorites through your preferred social media channel. In other words, here’s your chance to support your favorite entrepreneurs, startups and angels!
Once the selection for each country is over, we will reward the winners in four award ceremonies, to be held respectively in São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile and Mexico City at the end of this month. Co-founder Patrick de Laive will do the whole Latin American tour and be present at all events.
How it works
The Startup Awards happens in two rounds. As of today, it will be possible to nominate your favorite startups. Yes: the nomination round for each country is now open! The categories are Startup of the Year, Best Web App, Best Mobile App, Best Design, Best User Experience, Best (Co-)Founder, and Best Investor.
After the first round, the TNW team will narrow down the nominees to a maximum of five per category, and the rest will be up to you! It’s that simple: anyone can vote for their favorites, and the ones with the most votes win.
Work with us
To cover the costs of this whole initiative, we’re looking for companies that want to support the Startup Awards in its entirety or for a particular country. Check out the info deck (PDF) and get in touch with us.
Award Ceremony Dates
Make sure to mark your calendar with the dates for the respective award ceremonies:
- Brazil Startup Awards, São Paulo, 20 July
- Argentina Startup Awards, Buenos Aires, 23 July
- Chile Startup Awards, Santiago de Chile, 25 July
- Mexico Startup Awards, Mexico City, 27 July
Amongst other prizes, the winners of the Startup Awards will each receive a ticket to the upcoming TNW Latin America Conference in São Paulo in August – one more reason to nominate your favorite startups.
