I’m not enamored of most of the options out there for holding my devices on a desk. As Apple editor here at TNW, I’m constantly loading software, fiddling with apps and trying out tricks on my devices throughout the day.
Unfortunately, Apple’s docks suck and many of the third-party options just mimic their features. That’s where these slick iOMounts stands for iPhone, iPad and just about any other device come in.
They consist of a short shaft with a ball mounted on top. The ball is equipped with just the right amount of ‘sticktion’ that allows you to position your device where you want it without having it flop around.
The mount is magnetic and you stick a small metal ring to the back of your phone or case to enable its use. I’m not too hot on things that stick to the back of my phone but iOMounts showed it off as working well with a Zagg back protective sheet so that’s fine by me.
