Yazzem Acquired by Teens In Tech Networks

Yazzem Acquired by Teens In Tech Networks

Teens In TechTeens In Tech Networks, a US-based startup providing a community for teen bloggers to publish content, has just announced that they have acquired Yazzem, another US-based startup which developed a Twitter and FriendFeed topic creator. This acquisition is Teens In Tech Networks’ second acquisition in the last year; they acquired Youth Bloggers Network to enhance their teen blogging platform last March.

In this acquisition, Yazzem becomes a service of Teens In Tech Networks. In addition, the startup’s founders will join the Teens In Tech Networks staff and development on Yazzem will continue.

Teens In Tech founder and CEO Daniel Brusilovsky issued a statement, saying, “We’re very excited to welcome Zachary, Dustin and the Yazzem product to Teens in Tech Networks. We see lots of potential growth, under the Teens in Tech Networks brand.”

The company also announced a new version of their Teens In Tech blogging platform. The product, which allows teens to sign up for a free blog and upload media, is receiving additional functionality with this update. The update adds features like featured posts, partner advertising and suggested users, features which the company asserts will allow Teens In Tech Networks to start making revenue.

This is a very interesting move for a promising startup.

Since its establishment nearly two years ago, Teens In Tech has expanded quickly. Last March’s acquisition expanded their blogging platform. By acquiring Yazzem, Teens In Tech is now able to appeal to Twitter-using teens. Seizing on the fact that teens generate a prodigious amount of content through Facebook posts and tweets, as well as through standard blogging, Brusilovsky has attempted to broaden Teens In Tech’s appeal by adding Yazzem as a microblogging engine.

More importantly, however, is what Teens In Tech gains from absorbing Yazzem’s staff. Part of what makes Teens In Tech Networks such an interesting startup is the company’s incredibly young talent. Brusilovsky is 17 years old, the head of the Youth Bloggers Network side of the company is 16 and the founders of Yazzem are both 14. The meeting of the minds between these four young entrepreneurs could potentially produce some very interesting results.
