Sky+ HD customers can now download movies from Sky’s Buy and Keep Store

We knew it was coming, but from today Sky+ HD customers can buy movie downloads from the Sky Store and receive a DVD copy in the post at no additional cost.

Although currently restricted to only Sky+ HD customers, the company confirmed that over the next year customers will be able to access the movies they’ve bought via a smartphone or a tablet. TV box sets will also be introduced to the Store and ultimately, the service will be expanded to include options to purchase content from other platforms such as Sky Now, Roku and YouView boxes. In order to keep access to downloaded movies, users will need to keep an active Sky subscription.
