Currys and PC World introduce same-day deliveries for UK shoppers

UK consumer electronics retailers Currys and PC World will soon be offering same-day deliveries for online shoppers.

The two high street stores, both owned by Dixons Retail, say that they’ve no idea how popular the service will become, but are trying it out anyway.

Costing £14.99, orders must be placed online before 9am and will be delivered between 6.30pm and 10pm on weekdays. It will be rolling out in Greater London first, with a view towards a wider launch in the build-up to Christmas.

There is one caveat though – it only applies to smaller items. So your big-screen Plasma and washing machine will have to wait.
