BSkyB’s UK pay-per-view Now TV arrives on Xbox 360

BSkyB’s UK pay-per-view Now TV arrives on Xbox 360

We knew it was arriving, but we weren’t quite sure when. But BSkyB’s (Sky) pay-per-view Now TV service should be available on your Xbox now.

BSkyB first announced Now TV at The Guardian Media Summit in March, having initially alluded to the existence of such a service back in January. And at a launch event in London last month, Now TV was finally unveiled, arriving for Windows PCs, Macs and Android mobile devices (with limited device compatibility).

We noted last month that Now TV could lead to a lot of people giving up their main satellite subscription, in preference for an online offering that lets them watch the occasional movie or sporting event. For now, the service is limited to movies only, costing from between 99p and £3.99, with a £15 pay-monthly Sky Movies Pass also being made available. Sky Sports and other channels will be added in due course, which we’ve previously noted could be a game-changer for football in the UK.

Now TV launched for iOS devices in early August swiftly followed by YouView, and in the wake of its arrival on Xbox today, we can expect it to land on PS3, Roku and other devices in due course.

You will be able to download the app through Xbox Live, with a 30-days free trial available.
