The TechStars Network of startup accelerators is set to arrive in London as the UK’s Springboard programme expands from Cambridge to the country’s capital city.
The 2011 run of Springboard took in ten startups covering everything from publishing to music-based dating. The early 2012 London programme will take place in the fast-developing TechCity zone, running a 13-week ‘boot camp’ to help get teams ready for the market.
Springboard’s Managing Director, Jon Bradford – who is in Romania for the How To Web conference this week along with The Next Web – tells us that he’s tweaking the format slightly to support teams around sales and marketing. There will also be more emphasis on driving teams towards building a Minimal Viable Product to launch before the end of the programme.
The programme is backed by an angel investor syndicate and the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA). There is space for ten teams on the programme, and the deadline for entries is 8 January 2012. Startups can apply here.
