NewMediaAge is reporting that UK retailer Argos has introduced PayPal payments, offering an alternative payment service to better serve its customers who might be worried about submitting sensitive details when shopping via the Argos website.
Argos already offers an iPhone application which displays the latest price cuts, allows users to check stock and reserve items, but the company is looking to introduce more in the way of mobile selling, utilising PayPal to provide alternatives to people who are still reserved about using cards online.

The move is not a new one for Argos, the company already uses PayPal to process payments on its Argos Clearance Bargains account on eBay which sells surplus stock at lower prices than at retail. According to NMA, since February 2007 PayPal processed 750,000 eBay transcations for Argos.
PayPal will be integrated on Argos.co.uk and is likely to be rolled out as a mobile payment solution in the near future.
