Twitter for Mac has received a rare update that adds months-old features, such as support for viewing and posting multiple photos in a single tweet and attaching pictures to a direct message, to the app.
It’s not much of an overstatement to call the Twitter for Mac app neglected. It’s missing loads of features that have come to the Web and mobile app versions of the service. Don’t tell Dick, but that’s actually one of the reasons I use it, as I prefer the traditional text-only reverse timeline view to the newfangled (mandatory) photo preview and re-ordered conversation interface on the Web.
However, I have at times caught myself trying to drag-and-drop a photo onto a DM conversation or click through to view posts with more than one photo. This latest update brings features I wanted, but now I’m hoping that Twitter for Mac slinks back into obscurity so it doesn’t get conversation view.
