In addition to Viddy’s Timeline app going live today on Facebook’s Open Graph platform, the company announced some new partners, including; Foursquare, Nike, The Onion, VEVO, Fandango, Viddy, Endomondo, and RootMusic.
The company says that since Timeline was made publicly available to its users, nearly 3,000 apps have been launched. Regarding how these apps are doing, Facebook likes to share stats now and then on its progress, with its latest partners seeing traffic increases up to 77%:
– Pinterest grew its daily active Facebook user base by 60%
– Goodreads increased daily traffic by 77%
– Pose saw 5X growth in signups on its website and mobile app.
The Timeline integration for apps has been pretty well received by its users who can now group pieces of content generated by an app into one place on their profile:
As well as grouping these items together, the content will be placed on the user’s Timeline to show exactly when the action was taken. This is perfect for foursquare which lets you check-in to locations and lends itself perfectly to the Timeline concept.
VEVO is an interesting partner to watch, as there have been rumors that the music video site would dump its current partner, YouTube, for Facebook’s video platform.
It appears that a lot of the apps from well-known publishers are seeing instant increases in engagement for their content, including more shares and views thanks to Open Graph.
