After taking last week off, we’re back with another edition of This Week’s Most Talked About Social Media – our regular look at the new social media tools and platforms that are worth keeping en eye on.

And, in the true spirit of Halloween, we’re getting right into the spirit with a slightly different take, (but don’t fret, we have tricks AND treats in store for you).

Ready for the first surprise? OK, here it comes…

1. Get yourself some ‘Facebook’ chat for Twitter with bonfire.im – There are have been a few attempts at bringing real-time private chatting to Twitter so it’ll be interesting to see if this one takes off. It works by notifying you when your Twitter contacts are online so you can have a one-to-one private chat (just like you might with Skype). This will come in very handy when you want to have an in-depth chat with someone you may not know terribly well without having to take them to another platform.

2. Advanced Google Analytics delivered in a simple way thanks to SkyGlue.com – Want to make Google Analytics more useful? Then head over to SkyGlue .com and register for a free beta invitation and be in line to get access to a service that will give you additional data insight capabilities including individual visitor tracking and specific page content interaction.

3. Add some extra power to your Twitter hashtag tracking with Nurph.com – This looks like a handy solution if you moderate a Twitter chat or simply want to bring more order to group chats on Twitter. It will also archive hashtag-powered conversations and give you a dedicated channel. Go play!

4. Get some tasty feedback on your website with BagelHint.com –  What a clever idea! Simply upload a screenshot of your website using BagelHint.com and then the users of your website can provide you with feedback about what they like and don’t like. Sweet.

5. Make your own web icons with OnlineIconMaker.com – This looks like a potentially time saving and useful site (especially if you have an ‘ad hoc’ need to create to icons for web pages / sites). Just pick your shape and type in your text and two minutes later you’ll have  your icon. Hurrah.

Catch you next week!
