Today, Facebook just gave social media managers a big wet kiss, giving users the ability to tag the pages of brands and companies in photos. According to Inside Facebook, Page tagged photos are still adhering to each user’s privacy settings and will only appear on a Page’s Photos tab if the visibility is set to Everyone.
As Facebook rolls out this new feature, it’s first allowing just Pages categorized as “Brands & Products” or “People” to be tagged; but according to Inside Facebook, The FB says it is “looking to expand this functionality to more Page categories over time.”
Brands should rejoice as this is a terrific way for them to gain recognition and users. After all, how often have you friended someone after being tagged in a photo with them? If brands are lucky, the same will work if say, you’re tagged with VitaCoco after someone snapped a shot of you drinking delicious coconut water.
