In news today that will surely blow the doors off of buildings containing droves of analysts, Facebook has no intentions of charging users to use their social network, ever.
Yes, you may think that this was dead obvious, but Facebook has received enough questions (presumably) that they felt the need to do this:

I would assume this is a low-level attempt to combat the “JOIN THIS GROUP SO FACEBOOK WONT START CHARGING USERS!” type messages that newbs tend to join.Can’t imagine it’ll make much difference.
