This stop-motion tribute to Mario made with Rubik’s Cubes will make your brain hurt

It took a 20-year-old just 4.74 seconds to solve a Rubik’s Cube and set the new world record last November. I’ve been trying on and off for the last several years and still haven’t cracked one.

Let’s not focus on how dumb I am. Instead, hit the play button above to watch YouTuber Jugglersynchro’s beautiful stop-motion tribute to Nintendo’s Super Mario – made only with Rubik’s Cubes. Everything from the running animation to the power-up transformation are spot-on.

My favorite bit is when the duo behind the video use a whopping 900 cubes (I counted) to create a large Mario portrait at the end. It’s hard to believe that the clip is from 2015 and hasn’t yet garnered 50,000 views at the time of writing.
