This beautifully animated video is an ode to everything unsatisfying

This beautifully animated video is an ode to everything unsatisfying

Sometimes things fit perfectly or timed immaculately. These satisfying moments can feel so good that they spawned an entire subreddit devoted to them.

But other times, life comes in the way and things don’t go exactly as planned. Parallel Studio created a short movie about these frustrating, annoying, disappointing little things of everyday life.

The beautifully animated short is aptly called UNSATISFYING, and is painfully on point. It shows small, annoying moments like a spoon disappearing into soup to a golf ball only barely missing the hole.
The main thing making the video unique is its art style, which uses grainy gradients and pastel colors. It’s reminiscent of the arty mobile game Monument Valley.

Together with the animated short, the studio is releasing the Unsatisfying Challenge, which asks fellow animators to create something inspired by the original video.
