Watch these illustrations come to life when the lights go out

Paintings that come alive at night sounds a little like the next iteration at Night at the Museum, but you can rest assured; it’s not. Or at least I hope it’s not. Fingers crossed.

Instead, the paintings are the brainchild of Filip Sterckx and feature 3D modeling, sound design and dynamic projection that brings each to life. Once the lights are dimmed, the projector springs to life and treats onlookers to an animated exhibit in which the artwork springs to life. Each of the pieces interact with one another, as well as the non-animated artwork while leaping off the canvas and navigating the room through any appropriate means.

It’s entertainment that even the most art-adverse onlooker can get behind.
