Forget Windows Phone 9, here’s Windows Phone 95

What will happen next year when Microsoft completes its acquisition of Nokia’s Devices & Services division? Hopefully, not this:

This reminds me of a little anecdote from just a few weeks ago. Microsoft has a video series called Inside Windows Phone, which today has 65 episodes featuring interviews with the designers, product managers, and developers coding the Windows Phone OS and developer platform. I didn’t know this at the time, and had to do a double take to make sure Microsoft wasn’t building a 64-bit version of its mobile operating system when it posted a title that started with “Inside Windows Phone 64.”
