How rich would you be if you’d bought Apple shares instead of a PowerBook in 2003?

Talk about buyer’s remorse; our co-founder, Patrick de Laive has been working out how wealthy he’d have been if he’d bought Apple shares instead of a shiny new 17″ PowerBook G4 back in 2003.

Turns out the answer is ‘rich enough to buy many more of today’s 15″ Retina MacBook Pros’. Sure, that might not be that surprising but no matter how much value he got out of that now out-of-date laptop, we’re sure he’d prefer $216,678 in his back pocket today than a useless laptop in his store cupboard. As Apple’s ad promoting the PowerBook G4 in 2003 said, “More is more.”

Patrick put together this infographic to share his pain with the world using The Next Web Conference Europe 2013 Startup Rally winning tool Infogram:
