I believe that the impact of Rapid Prototyping (3D-Printing) will change the world as much as the internet did – since it is a form of devirtualiziation: The internet allows for the global sharing of “ideas” (virtual contents), now with 3D-Printers you can materialize such “ideas” simply by printing them.

You think that’s expensive? Well, maybe you want to ask your local chiseler what he’d charge you to carve your head from plaster, deduct the casting mould and have it casted for you in brass or bronze – but be prepared to get back a 5-digit-number! :-)
