The title pretty much says it all. Back in May, the Droid was put to the challenge with a regular Cube. This time, it’s the mind-melting 7×7 version of the toy.
I will only add that the Droid was using a program to maniupulate the cube via a Lego Mindstorms NXT robot. This is truly geek heaven.

I don’t think it matters much whether it’s 3×3 or 7×7. The algorithm is the same, and even the slowest computers are able to process this amount of data quite easily. This probably shows best the quality of the camera, that was actually able to distinguish the colors enough to make an accurate process happen.
P.S. Why do I bother writing comments if they don’t get shown? Admins, please write a short instruction what to do to actually make the comments show. This is my second attempt.
I see your comment just fine. Where else did you comment that it didn’t show?
The odds are exponentially higher of failure because of a wrong move could be made. The original DROID would have failed in the MFLOPS (cpu calculations) on this 7×7. But what’s amazing here, is that when Android 2.2 is installed, it could cut this time in half for Droid X. Which means it has more to do with the OS support than the hardware upgrade here!
Even Nexus One with FROYO could do this in far better time right now!
