For those who might consider it a fake, I’d think twice, it’s actually a well planned event by Arriva (a European bus company). They’ve done a number of these style events to make a better work enviroment for their bus drivers in Copenhagen.

I like the idea of making a birthday special for someone. I’d don’t think much of an idea which seemed designed to distract someone who is driving. He seemed to have less than half an eye on the road for the first part of the surprise, when he wasn’t sure what was going on. For a bus company to spring their surprise when the driver is driving seems pretty stupid – and potentially careless – to me.
Somehow I think bus drivers are accustomed to driving while distracted, at least any who drive buses at night in big cities. Drunks makes lots of commotion.

What got to me was how most of the people on the bus joined in once they realized what was going on. Sure, the group in the road was arranged but I’m certain the ones in the bus were just headed to work or something. What a nice thing to do. it wasn’t “fake” but the bus driver might have been in on it: There were too many high quality cameras at too many angles for him to not have been able to see any, and since he didnt react to any cameras he must not have been curious as to what was being filmed, and they may have crossed the line of sight with a camera so that the camera that was filming another angle should have been visible in the shot if it wasn’t filmed in different takes, but I’m not sure of that it could just be well edited

Actually, most of those camera angles are probably legit cameras installed by the company for the safety and security of the passengers and drivers. Lots of transit companies are adding them to buses and trains to help deter vandalism and other crime.
Busses in Denmark have a ton of security cameras, they could have used those i guess. Besides, cameras of that quality dont have to be very large these days.

i dont think the bus driver was in on it, purely because after the bus is stopped by the flash mob with the signs he’s smiling but he also looks like he’s about to cry from joy. there arent many people who can fake that kind of emotion convincingly.

believe me or not but i’m a student living in copenhagen and last night i met mukthar on bus no. 18 on jagtvej on the way to frederiksbjerg station. it was such a cool surprise! he is such a humble and polite person. it was overwhelming for him to see how many people have watched the video and he seriously didn’t know anything before. apparently he was chosen cause he has been one of the most hardworking busdrivers always taking over shifts of his colleagues, just like he did on his own birthday. really amazing!
I spoke to Muktar’s wife Sephanéth, who told me the only reason he took other people’s shifts so readily is because the bus company pays so low & they can’t afford the rent. She thought that the bus company organised this birthday celebration because Muktar was considering complaining to the Fretoilek – or Fair Work Commission. There’s always a different side to every story

I’m from Denmark, and that video has been all over the news. It is a part of Arrivas marketing strategy. As some has mentioned; Arriva is a bus company. They planned the thing with camera crew and all to promote the company. In one of the shots the camera ran out of battery (or something like that), so they filmed the next bus (they come every few minutes). This next bus had a white driver, which can also be seen in the video. The rest of it is completely real though.
it’s called “frederiksberg” @lutz, if you really were a student in DK, you would know, and @casper, mind your own business don’t go waving your bloody copenhagen-ish lies. this video has been retouched on so many levels, i can tell from seeing a lot of photo-shops in my time, and from some of the pixels.

I’m a production guy who’s worked at Walt Disney World 3 times as cast in EPCOT + FW, food service stuff, and they teach you how to do this for guests.
Me and my wife were treated to an impromptu moonlight cruise (Year of a Million Dreams event, great idea) for our honeymoon…for free, with gifts and a slow private boat from the Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness to enjoy together…true Disney Magic at work.
So yes, we (Disney and all employers) need to do this for OUR cast/people to remind them what their job is.
It’s said (sometimes tongue-in-cheek, sometimes not) that the best promotion you can get at Disney is to be fired so you can go back to being a guest, let’s change that everywhere.
I loved working there, and would do it again, that says the most I think, because you could be part of spreading Disney Magic, a man I wish to become.

Im not gunna lie.. i think this is real(ish)! but why the hell would you use photoshop to edit this?! yes you can use photoshop to edited videos but its purpose is to edit PHOTOS! its in the name adobe PHOTOshop cs1,2,3,4,5 ..etc
its obvious they have some good quality VIDEO cameras! so they would hire someone who can edit VIDEOS, therefore meaning this person they hired would have professional (or near to) software for editing videos such as Adobe After Effects CS1,2,3,4,5… or Adobe Premiere CS1,2,3,4,5… or Sont Vegas Pro 4,5,6,7,8,9… or Final Cut Pro!!!
