yeah! this story has entered the popular today section on popurls.com…

what kind of a bullshit…
safari is a cool browser in osx… but in windows its only one more “no-one-want-to-have-becaus-its-to-fucking-buggy” browser, noone needs.
i dont like ffox in windows too, but its better than safari.
and ie <8 MUST be disallowed. – IE 8 is cool – but it'S ie.. you understand xD
opera 10.50 is the fastest
Opera is the fastest. have u tried it?
Booo,,,have you tried chrome?? Opera load very slow,,, and some picture or javascript not loaded!! Useless!!
When you uses Opera, u must ready open another browser,,,, most javascript not loaded.
Not in my experience. Best UI and Opera 10.50 is incredible fast.
You don't have to use all the addons in the world, y'know.
ooohh!!!! thats all true!!!
That Chrome image is a touch phallic.
OMG, I'm a <geek_profession> and you totally screwed up at browser <any_but_IE> because of <random_personal_choice_semi-fact>. You guys should totally <internet_slang>.
OMG, I'm a <geek_profession> and you totally screwed up at browser <any_but_IE> because of <random_personal_choice_semi-fact>. You guys should totally <internet_slang>.
neither of them are funny nor accurate.
I just started using the Firefox. I do like the add ons
The addons are what makes Firefox the best browser ever.
Awesome analogies :)
Very unique interpretation with pictures. It made me smile. And I am FireFox user. And I think the addons are quite helpful and good in themselves. In fact that what's make it more better to use and different from others. I think FireFox is for everyone. I just want to say FireFox rocks!!!
ration pack
The reason for Firefox being unusable is one of the oddest claims I've ever seen. First, you don't have to install any addons. Secondly, using addons makes adds huge amounts of awesome functionality. If you think an addon makes your browser unusuable, don't install that addon.
This is not true
no, chrome is faster
No, it's not. :P
roses are red, violets are blue, Fire & Chrome and the rest has no clue
you clearly just playing favourites without performing a proper test. Opera no doubt is the fastest. Next is Chrome.
To the author, funny analogies but you have to be really stupid if you install all addons you see. There's no more usable browser than Firefox. I've tried to replace it but haven't been able to because of its very USEFUL addons.
Yes it is
no it's not!
I dont think chrome is that fast…..It takes years to load a PDF file in chrome..and some time it never loads and says..”An I/O error has occured”. It may be a problem with Adobe reader too..i dont know exactly..
yes it is
I concur firefox has been the best for me too.
If FF is unusable because of all the stupid add-ons well…. don't install any stupid add-ons!! They don't come pre-installed, the user isn't forced to install them. Comparing FF with a bunch of add-ons installed to the other browsers is wrong, you have to compare FF, or any other, without any additional stuff.
I totally agree with you Velazquez,
Chrome
is my main browser since I like the way it looks, works and it has all the (optional) extensions I like to use. Which are: Bit.ly, Chrome Flags, ChromeReload, Delicious Tools, Evernote Web Clipper, FastestChrome, Feedly, Firebug Lite 1.3.0, Google Mail Checker Plus, LastPass, Pendule, Screenshot and StumbleUpon.
In Firefox I have the same extensions installed as above mentioned and it's definitely my second choice.
Use Chromifox Extreme 3.6 and it looks slick.
Opera 10.50 looks more or less the same as any modern browser so I don't know if you are totally up to date. It's a transparent tabbed browser and has alot of OPTIONAL plugins and extensions available too.
Safari I'm not too thrilled about but that's because I don't like the looks, don't like the way it works and don't like the options it provides.
I guess the fanatics that call themself individualists, Leaders not followers, Creative persons who have a mind of their own and than run to the Mac stores like headless chickens to buy the latest toy that has an apple for a logo might like it. LoL Sorry just being sarcastic :-).
IE is gone bye bye.
IE is best for corporate use. Too bad this article was written by college grads that have never seen a corporation from the inside. I'd say that a man with a briefcase and an earpiece would be the right picture for that one.
Chrome has a lot of add-ins now, and comparing this feature to Firefox, I'd say that if Chrome improves its development tools a bit more, it will be better for me than Firefox, in ALL aspects.
Safari is pretty neat too, I'd never place a bike to represent it. It's too dull.
Opera is just very different, in all aspects, but the most universal browser ever, and fast. A slick swiss army knife with a rocket would represent it well.
Firefox would be something like those neodymium balls from which you could build whatever you want, bloat it as much as you can, but it does fall apart from time to time.
Anyway it's clear that the article is written by people who hate Microsoft products that are designed ALSO to fit enterprise needs. Apple was also rudely mocked.
Subjectivity… Some people just can't live without it.
Opera is IE6 in a tux. looks great, but just fucks up some CSS implementations for no good reason. When building sites, the majority of my problems are IE6 & 7 (annoying but fixable thanks to conditional comments), and Opera (annoying and unfixable as no way to reliably target spcifically). Thankfully Opera's slice of the market share is measured in Planck lengths ;)
No, it's not! :P
yes it is! :s
ya..I love “that” stupid firefox.. funny_:)
Without addons firefox is better than with????
I lost track. Which browser was faster?
it's 5. 10x -)
Opera is
Opera is
I'd like to see an actual example of this. I've never, ever seen bad CSS implementation from Opera.
Epic #fail: add-ons in firefox are OPTIONAL.
Chrome for browsing and development.
Firebug, YSlow, Pagespeed on Firefox for Optimization and Advanced Stage Development
IE is best for corporate use, mostly because of a tradition of corporate web apps (payroll systems, etc) written exclusively for it. This isn't something inherent to IE that makes it superior in this regard, and indeed, is a big factor holding people back from upgrading to newer versions of IE – applications that can't handle IE7 or 8, never mind Firefox, Chrome, etc…
Nuh-uh!
Uh huh!
Nuh-uh!
Uh-huh!
'NIGHT MOM!
Nuh-uh!
Uh-huh!
No, I'm Batman.
Very good “D
No, you're not!
What about Camino & Flock?
Opera is faster, when it is working.
Most of the times, it does not.
The Difference Between Firefox, Opera, Explorer & Safari
Well, in that case, why not Gnucat, Iceweasel, Seamonkey and Iceape? Heck, why not add Lynx and wget in there, while you're at it.
Ford…. No Chevy!…. FORD…. No CHEVY!!!….ur a moron…no u are!
Rabbit Season!
wow… damn creative n nice! that's y i like chrome so much! hahhaha…
I would like to see a mobile browser version of this post. Ideas?
I hate IE,love Chrome only!
Firefox is even more usable with its add-ons
o yea for sure its impossible to replace FFox once you have the right addons. Why would anyone wanna switch?
Yes, it is.. LOL
Opera is the fastest
No developer can leave FireFox because of it's add-on s
Chrome comes in between two.
IE is used by most so developers have no choice :(
Really nice :)
But I think I'd disagree on the firefox bit. Agreed Firefox is slower with lots of 'unnecessary' add-ons, but it can be as fast and as light as Chrome, if you disabled the add-ons.
And now that Chrome has also put add-on functionaility, it's getting slower.
also true. Besides that IE has a much more complicated security policy, which is good for enterprise. It also creates a lot of problems and headaches for web developers, but at least the benjamins don't get touched by strangers.
just wondering how far can this tree stretch =]
No, it is not.
I have personal experienced far fewer problems since switching to Opera than I had when i used IE. I must admit, though, that Opera is a little faster, takes less room on my desktop, has more intuitive interface options, and has a much nicer tab system than IE. Of course, I think in the end it comes down to personal preference. After all, regardless of how many vulnerabilities you fix, there will always be new ones. That's the problem with security. Nothing is completely safe. Keep your scanners updated and running.

CHROME FTW!
duh.. article?! it's a picture dude. This article was written by college grads? this comment was written by college grads.
If you would seriously look to some of the currently available benchmarks the rankings are as follows (check the dromaeo benchmark suite):
1. Chrome
2. Safari (And I am not biased ranking it so highly, because I HATE IT (despite being a mac user))
3. Opera
4. Firefox
5. IE
Co-co-combo breaker!!
ps.: Fenrir's Sleipnir Browser is the best.
#fake
lol
LOL, and Lynx?
for real?
from march 8, 2010 opera is currently faster
http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,2361…
Firefox with right addons owns everything. Single add one of ad blocker single handedly owns rest of the browser.
Firefox nearly unusable? Stupid addons?..The fact is firefox is second most popular browser should testify otherwise..
I am a web developer, I cant imagine life without firefox addons. Although chrome is closing in fast but it does not yet replace firefox on my computer.
You are an idiot.
Got to take that back, opera is now officially the slowest available browser: http://ic.tweakimg.net/ext/i/imagenormal/126881…
Check the names in the stats you posted. Opera 10.10 was slower than most. Opera 10.5 is the fastest ;-)
I hate IE wont go back EVER
your thinking is really nice for Firefox, Opera, Explorer & Safari .keep it up
what is PBG?
Lol @ the Firefox one . . . I wonder if the author realized that the addons are OPTIONAL . . . lol
It depends on the usage. I prefer to use Chrome for its fast loading, easy using, and friendly interface. Some people prefer to use Firefox (and Flock as its descendant) because you can run scripts on it. Some people, especially those who have very fast broadband connection may use Opera, for it able to detect the connection speed using its Turbo feature, Mac user may prefer Safari rather than the other, and some dumbster moron may think IE is the only browser available and usable….
My opinion – Firefox, which I've been using for 5 months. Then Chrome which I tried a while back but only re-installed less than 2 weeks ago. Internet Explorer no longer impresses me, but that's all I have on my work computer. I have no experience of Safari nor Opera.
That's why I use Chrome :D
I love chrome, it goes like a whipper snapper!! That's all I need baby, that's all I need.
It's funny 'cause it's true
Not for Firefox, at least.
Some addons can be a pain in the ass if you put too many of them. I'm a Firefox user
Have you seen the remove/uninstall button? I'm a Firefox user too, with over 60 addons, all of which I frequently use. If an addon is “a pain the ass”, I just remove it. No one is forced to install addons, and usually they do great things for the browser.
But if you aren't going to use the awesome add-ons for FF, you might as well just use Chrome, right? :D
I know this will never get read cause its on teh bottom but.
IE may be a dead horse, but it has onmouseenter and onmouseleave.
Down with the w3c!
What is onmouseenter and onmouseleave.
The compact car and the comments on Opera about looking stupid, well…I guess the comments itself are stupid. Without a doubt Opera is the fastest browser and it looks great aswell.
Comparing IE6 with Opera? We all lost your respect right there. I've been using Opera for a long time and it never messed any CSS implementations.
You broke the internet.
Hope this article was not influenced by Google…………. lol he he heee…….
I think chrome should be some type of race car
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, man.
I see what you did there.
It's not the cigar… it's what you do with it.
If most people think Opera looks f**king stupid, why are all of its UI features ripped off by the other browsers? I mean, do you remember the days before Opera introduced tabbed browsing? Remember not having a quickdial for your favorite web pages?
Face it, Firefox's R&D division is a bunch of guys in a room reverse-engineering the latest version of Opera.
I'm so glad I took part in this!
Oh, I'm sorry, I meant to write here!
Nice shitstorm you stirred up there Boris.
I love Opera and I wouldn't change it for anything. I've tried the others of course so I know the difference. Opera has some very useful features that make my life much easier and I am able to do some things on the Internet much faster. It's been working without any problems so far.
What about Flock? I know Flock came from Firefox but I think it's the best browser ever. I liked Opera before but after I discovered Flock I forgot the others.
I don't like both of them. I stick to IE. But I love this post ;)
This is amazing! I’m an avid firefox user as well, but you’re right about the ad-ons.
There’s one other thing IE is useful though – recommending it to people who have no idea what they’re doing and laughing at them.
where is opera’s????
I love Firefox and I wouldn’t change it for anything
nice post thanks
I always used safari but I wanted to take an online course, with safari I couldn’t so I had to change to Firefox, and suddenly I saw the light
Chrome is really fast, but so far I prefer Firefox
