Don’t you hate to sit down at a computer, just to find the ghetto-tacular IE running? We have all been there.

    Wow... I actually like some of the features in IE8, and I haven't been able to find add-ons for firefox that mimic the functionality, particularly in its updated tab management. I switch back and forth a lot, but I'd say I use IE about 70% of the time on my Win7 machine. Overall it has been more pleasant for me.

    You could use the Vista Areo theme for Firefox to mimic that tab theme for Firefox.

  • Pretty old stuff. However I disagree. Firefox hangs relentlessly and doesn't respond any sooner hence I prefer IE

    I also use IE8 by choice and I'm satisfied with it. I tried to use Firefox once and it didn't make it for me Btw. that is only like the hundreth time I see this graph.
  • We're finding different Google search positions in the SERPs with various browsers. But that's all I use it for!

  • Typically, downloading Firefox or now Google Chrome is the first thing I do on a fresh installation or new computer. Internet Explorer is crap.

    Isn't Windows 7 set up so you can actually completely remove Internet Explorer now if you want to? Before you couldn't, because Windows/Microsoft Update relied on it.

    Yeah but I have noticed it only removes the shortcut, because it still works in Steam and it can be launched by any other application

    Don't forget: to log on to all those credit card/online banking systems that don't work with any of the secure browsers!
  • Also, sharepoint sites don't seem to work with anything else :(

    Actually that is not correct. AD is the only thing that causes an issue and that can be remedied by adding single sign-in in lieu of AD, just like you would on an extranet.

    you look at the stats and opera is less than 1%.

    Replace opera with "test website because client still uses IE" and that pie chart makes sense.

  • That's what i really use IE for... as soon as in install or reinstall my windows.. open IE and download Firefox he he ... the funny most thing is even Yahoo messenger uses IE internally for communication and displaying chats..!! I personally use Pidigin for chats..!! completely free from IE ... Open source saved me ..!! halleelooyaahhh..!!!

    Well, I can understand using IE8 because you have windows 7. But if you don't, Mozzilla's the way too GO!
  • I only use IE to log-on to the MLS site for Realtors. IE is currently the only browser accepted for this. :-(

  • Only reason I ever use IE is for browser compatibility testing or accessing sharepoint or other nasty MS-specific stuff.
