Don’t miss out: You could win an Olio Model One luxury smartwatch

Your smartwatch options consist of far more than the Apple Watch. For Olio, a newcomer to the smartwatch world, it has made its first watch — the Olio Model One — not only look fabulous, but exceed the standards of luxury and function in a connected timepiece. And for a limited time, TNW readers have a chance to win one of their own!

The collaborative result of former Beats by Dre and Google product designer Steve Jacobs, Olio has enjoyed monstrous success as it sold out of its entire first run of watches. The design team behind Olio includes top technology and design companies including Apple, Movado, NASA. The device supports both iOS and Android via dual-mode Bluetooth 4.0.

The Model One takes a different approach to other smartwatches when it comes to notifications, preferring to minimize the distraction from endless incoming messages, alerts, and emails. Using the cloud-based Olio Assist assistant, the Model One watch gradually learns your preferences and shows the things you’re most likely to need or care about. If you dismiss calls or messages, the assistant will remind you about them later on.

The Olio Model One is made from forged surgical grade stainless steel and is hand finished, with scratch-resistant ion-exchange glass and a crystal backing that handles Olio’s proprietary “Rapid Charge” power management system, for multiple days of use. The case measures 47mm, and is attached to either a leather or metal strap, weighing 81 grams or 161 grams respectively. The Model One is also water resistant.
