Think you know how to pronounce Helvetica, Futura and other popular fonts? Think again

Thanks largely to personal computers, many typefaces have become household names. But, because many people only encounter these typefaces within Microsoft Word or online, mispronunciation is quite common.

Of course, pronunciation will vary from country to country, and that’s perfectly fine (you won’t find me pronouncing the letter “Z” as “zed”), but in case you were curious as to how faces like Neue Helvetica, Univers, Frutiger and Akzidenz Grotesk are pronounced by their creators, look no further than below.
