RIM brings Flash and BlackBerry App World to India

rim_blackberry_app_worldResearch in Motion (RIM) has unveiled its Blackberry App world in India. This will enable India Blackberry users to use a range of apps on their phones. The app service was internationally launched on April 1, but India had to wait a little while. Indian smartphone users can download the Blackberry App world on their blackberry phone from here. Which is only available for BlackBerry handhelds running BlackBerry OS 4.2 or higher.

Following the same path of other App Stores from Apple, Android, Nokia, Microsoft and Samsung, BlackBerry App World has Categories, Top Downloads, and other features. And also The Recommend function where users can recommend the application by rating them. Though it can be accessed over both Wi-Fi and cellular networks for cellular networks, users must active BlackBerry data service plan. Data charges will be applicable on downloading the app.

“The BlackBerry platform provides a truly unparalleled mobile experience for millions of people and we are thrilled to enhance that experience with BlackBerry App World,” said Frenny Bawa, vice president, India, Research In Motion. He also added that there are Indian-centric applications by Hungama MyPlay, CNBC TV18 Moneycontrol, Mundu Radio and Arromatics.

Adobe + RIM = Rich Content and Applications to for Blackberry Smartphones

adobeRIM and Adobe have announced the integration with Adobe’s platform, enabling developers to build rich content services and BlackBerry Widgets that leverage the latest runtime environments, APIs and network services through Adobe’s design and development tools.

In the recent, Blackberry Developer Conference 2009, Adobe announced that the creative professionals and application developers will be able to use the Adobe Flash Platform technology and Adobe Creative Suite content development and authoring tools to easily create rich content and Applications.
