FreedomPop now lets you use old Sprint phones on its free mobile service

FreedomPop announced today that it has opened up its free mobile service to allow customers to use their own phones. Previously, you had to buy the company’s $99 handset, but now you can use an old Sprint phone.

The service, which offers 500MB of data, 500 text messages and 200 minutes per month for free, launched last month with HTC’s Evo handset. FreedomPop noted that it is receiving 20,000 daily inquiries for its wireless plans.
