You can now preorder the Nokia Lumia 800 in the UK, other European countries expected

Nokia has just thrown open preorders for its new Lumia 800 Windows Phone-powered device, over on its website, at least in the UK.

On the UK site, the device is only available to preorder on Vodafone as a subsidised handset, with an upfront cost of between free and £199 and monthly payments of between £26 and £46. There’s no sign of a SIM-free, unlocked offering yet.

Nokia’s French, German and Spanish websites all currently carry the Lumia 800 pages in their native languages, although there’s no preorder information there as yet. During his keynote, CEO Stephen Elop said that the device would be available to preorder today, so look out for further preorder news on those sites at least, during the day.

The device is due to make its European launch next month.
