The Kindle Fire has a 7-inch display and sells for $199, compared with $499 for Apple’s cheapest iPad. You can Pre-order Kindle Fire today and it ships November 15th. This device is an advanced version of Amazon’s current E-reader, the Kindle, and runs Google’s Android OS.

Likeseems like the focus here is a consumption focused machine.
it's not about interactivity, sharing or creation, but reading, watching and listening.
my current tablet (zombie HP Touchpad) can ALMOST replace my laptop in day to day, this wouldn't be able to do that.
For an eReader, it makes sense to me to focus on consumption only, but for a tablet it seems short sighted... at that price point tho, they're going to make a killing.

LikeShevonne Polastre I have the iPad 2 and could easily live without the camera and mic. I use it maybe once every 3 months and can easily use the iPhone instead in those cases.
This tablet seems to be aimed solely and consuming content. Something which the iPad is great in too, but then at a lower price. I like it...
