Marketing Magazine reports that the six-month campaign is being created by a number of agencies from Nokia’s global roster, which could include UK firms Wieden & Kennedy, Fallon and R/GA.
The campaign will seek to overturn the public image of the Nokia brand as it moves away from the Symbian operating system to Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform. In North America and Europe, its smartphone sales have drastically declined as the Finnish vendor has struggled to match the smartphone strategies of its rivals, including Apple, Samsung and Google, with its Android operating system.
Nokia refused to comment on rumours, with a company spokesman stating:
‘We are excited about the Nokia with Windows phone, but it’s not our policy to comment on specific campaigns for unannounced products.’
The mobile giant is well known for its build quality and integrated services, the company will hope a recent rebranding and shift to a new platform will overturn its public image.
