Have you ever wondered how much money you can get for that old smartphone? How about how Many iPhones are sold just after a new release of a new model?

eBay knows and has provided us with some insight into smartphone sales on its site, in the form of a sexy infographic. With over 125,000 iPhone 4, 3G and 3GS selling in q4 of 2010 the data might even convince you to part ways with your ‘old’ iPhone.

The iPhone world is about to expand with the addition of a new carrier this month and eBay has conveniently provided insights into iPhone and Smartphone sales.

According to Nielsen, before the end of 2011 there will be more ‘smart’ phones in the U.S. market than ‘feature’ phones. These projections in smartphone growth are impressive and also support a vast market for previous model and used smartphones. What else are you going to do with yesterday’s model, right?

Much of the market is driven by the late model iPhone (3g and 3gs) but other phones are also starting to see signs of growth. Regardless of which phone you own, if you decide to sell it you should consider timing, condition and accessibility if you want to sell your older device at the highest price.
