4424185115 433417d291 260x173 Opera Mini Now Serving One Billion Daily Page Views Opera Mini, the mobile browser developed by sofware company Opera, has just reached a historic milestone; the browser is now serving over one billion daily page views, compressing a total of 11,500 every second before sending content to mobile handsets.

Opera Mini is available on Java phones, Windows Mobile, Android, S60, Blackberry and iPhone and has experienced huge growth since launching as a mobile browser. In June 2008, Opera’s servers processed 100 million page views per day for the first time, last month it processed 910 million pages on an average day, a jump of over 161% since June 2009.

“Each day is different in the fast-growing mobile Web. Every day more people around the world choose Opera Mini and view more pages through this browser,” said Jon von Tetzchner, co-founder, Opera Software. “Crossing one billion pages views in a day is further proof that people desire the best Internet experience, no matter where they live or what device they use.”

Opera Mini was the first mobile browser to be accepted on the Apple App Store and topped over one million downloads on its launch day alone. The browser differentiates itself from other mobile browsers by optimizing webpages by up to 90% before serving the page to the user.
