One of the biggest frustrations around the launch of the HTC Evo 4G in the US was the fact the device was limited to one country, the rest of us would have to look on and wonder what the 4G superphone would be like to own.
If you were one of the people who were dismayed at HTC’s decision to limit the release of the Evo to one country, things might be starting to look up. Android-centric blog AndroidSpin is said to have received two independent tips that the HTC Evo is to be retooled for GSM networks, specifically the UK and released under the name – HTC Ace.
When we say retooled, the HTC Ace is said to feature the same 4.3-inch display as the Evo but will physically resemble the HTC Droid Incredible, packing some increased power too, judging by these specifications:
- Android 3.0
- 4.3 in. display
- 1.5 GHz processor
- 8 MP camera and 1.3 MP front facing camera
- Increased battery life
- 1080p HD recording
We must stress that these are rumours, rumours we so want to be true.

Guys, stop talking about Android 3.0 ! There is no such thing that Google talked about. We just know that the next version of Android will be called gingerbread and will probably arrive this fall.
That’s the killer smart-phone, I would like to have it absolutely if it’s factory-unlocked.
My current contract is due to expire early next year, so assuming this is true, hopefully the phone will be out just in time :-)

What?!? Processor running 1,5 GHz, Android 3.0? And when this “phone” is coming…?(I think in two years…) I have Motorola Milestone, but I will say goodbye for my phone when this will released.. :D
