Microsoft launches stronger email spam protection for Office 365 commercial users

Microsoft is introducing Exchange Online Advanced Threat Protection (EOATP) , a new line of defense against malicious software for Office 365’s commercial email users.

The service builds on Microsoft’s Exchange Online Protection and is currently in private preview.

It offers benefits like Safe Attachments, which protects users from malware and viruses transmitted via email by analyzing messages for malicious intent before relaying them to users.

The new service also offers real-time scanning of email links to ensure that you don’t get redirected to an unsafe site after clicking a seemingly safe URL. It also brings rich reports and tracking so you can find out which members of your organization are being targeted.

Exchange Online Advanced Threat Protection will be available later this summer for $2 per user per month, and can be assigned to all users in your organization or a specified group.
