Microsoft has today announced that the real-time translator tool for Skype calls that it showed off in May is now available in preview for Windows 8.1 users.
In order to get up and running, all you need to do is enter your email address on the sign-up page and jump through the installation hoops delivered via email. Initially the option is only available for Windows 8.1 users or people running the Windows 10 Technical Preview. The company said there are a limited number of spots, though.
While we haven’t had a chance to fully test it out yet, the prospect of having real-time, two-way translation seems pretty exciting indeed. Just think, it’s virtually a real Babel Fish.
