Windows Phone’s Cortana now pulls in Foursquare data to suggest nearby places for you

Windows Phone’s Cortana now pulls in Foursquare data to suggest nearby places for you

Microsoft’s deal with Foursquare is now yielding more benefits as Cortana, the personal assistant for Windows Phone that Microsoft developed to rival Apple’s Siri and Google Now, has now integrated data from the location-based platform.

As can be seen on the screenshot provided by a Reddit user (and spotted by Neowin), Cortana is able to pull in data from Foursquare according to what places are near you, or your specified preferences.

Microsoft became a Foursquare investor after it pumped in $15 million to become the startup’s biggest source of revenue back in February, while inking an agreement to use its valuable data in products like Windows Phone and Bing.

Cortana is only available to US-based Windows Phone users right now, but we can expect a UK and China launch of the service soon.
