Microsoft said to be testing a Google Glass rival

Microsoft could be planning to launch wearable devices similar to Google Glass in a bid to gain a footing in the fledgling wearable tech market space, according to reports.

While little is known about the project, Microsoft has apparently already started testing the Glass-like devices, according to the Wall Street Journal which cites “people familiar with the matter” as the source of the info.

A successful foray into wearable devices – it is also thought to be working on a smartwatch – could help Redmond shake off the shackles of being late to the party with Windows Phone and having to play catchup in the mobile space. More importantly perhaps, it could potentially help secure some all important ‘mindshare’ among consumers.
