Microsoft reportedly working on a new ‘Office Reader’ media consumption app for Windows 8

Microsoft is reportedly working on a new, Windows 8 app called Office Reader to help users collect and browse various bit of content stored both locally and on the Web. It will join a number of other updates to the Office suite, codenamed ‘Gemini’.

The Verge reports that the new tool will be able to import documents from the traditional Office apps, as well as ebooks, textbooks, PDFs and Web pages. The app will also support styluses, such as that found in the Surface Pro, for adding annotations and highlighting specific passages.
