Microsoft unveils ID@Xbox, a self-publishing program for Xbox One indie game developers

Microsoft may be reducing the number of launch markets for its upcoming Xbox One console, but it’s looking to increase its engagement with the developer community with the introduction of a new self-publishing program.

ID@Xbox will let “qualified game developers” deliver their games directly to the new console, which is expected to launch in 13 markets in 2013.

Microsoft says it’s looking for professional, independent game developers with a “proven track record of shipping games on console, PC, mobile, or tablet.” If that sounds like you, applications are open now.

According to Xbox 360, there will be no application fees and developers will gain access to the console’s full suite of resources.
