Microsoft details its cloud infrastructure [Video]

Microsoft has compiled and released a lengthy video that details how its network of datacenters operate, and how they support its hundreds of web services.

The clip is in and of itself dry, which is to be expected, but it is certainly interesting. How things work is something that we should all aspire to know.

As web services are renamed ‘cloud products,’ it is useful to understand the amount of hardware that underpins them. In the video Microsoft claims to have several decades of experience building and running datacenters, and over 200 web services.

Of course, not all are as large as Bing, but Microsoft certainly does have a large footprint on the Internet. If you have the ten minutes, watch the video and be informed.
