Want to see Internet Explorer 9 Mobile? If you are at SXSW, you can

While Internet Explorer 9 for PC is launching tonight, the mobile version of the browser is not set to be released until later this year as part of the ‘Mango’ update to Windows Phone 7.

That is, however, not stopping Microsoft from letting a few people have a peek at the future. If you are at the SXSW event, you can drop over to the Microsoft booth, and if you can catch Joe Marini, he will show you IE9 Mobile on his phone.

TNW is trying to do just that, find Mr. Marini and get some video of the browser in action, but the conference is a touch chaotic, so we will do our best but can’t promise. This is what Marini said on Twitter:

What do you need to know about IE9 Mobile? A major component is that it will mirror the HTML5 prowess of its desktop cousin. Microsoft is working to ensure that if a site renders properly on IE9, it will also on IE9 Mobile. It is doing so by using the same engines on both browsers.

Finally, if you want to learn more about the next WP7 browser, you should read our previous post “Everything you need to know about Internet Explorer Mobile 9,” where we have broken down all that we know.  Of course, if you do catch IE9 Mobile at SXSW, do send us a picture.

Internet Explorer 9 will be released at 7:30 Central time, and TNW will be covering it live.
