Bing Map Apps SDK Available For Everyone

Bing Map Apps SDK Available For Everyone

In a blog post, the Bing team has announced availability of the Bing Maps Apps SDK and three new apps.

Bing Maps have some interesting applications that allow you to see twitter activities, parking places, fuel pricing or Foursquare check-ins near a particular location.

The SDK will allow developers to make their own apps over Bing maps and once verified by Microsoft, the apps will be featured in the Bing Maps Apps Gallery.

One of the three apps released today is a tool to test your Bing Maps Apps. The other two are:

Weather Map App

Enable the Weather Map App and by default you’ll see all 3 layers enabled – U.S. Doppler Images, Worldwide Satellite and WeatherBug Stations.

EveryScape Eats

Firing up the map app will center the map on Boston and load 10 restaurants on the map. Select a restaurant to get a preview image of what’s inside. Click the “Step Inside” link and up will pop a 360 degree panorama inside the venue.

Looking forward to some great apps that’ll enhance our Maps experience.
