Shift 2020: A new book predicting technology’s rapid advancement this decade

Shift 2020We love future-gazing here at The Next Web, and I secretly long for the day when Google Now becomes sentient, falls in love with me and commandeers a private jet on my behalf when I miss a flight. Shift 2020 is a forthcoming book curated by entrepreneur Rudy De Waele, that compiles forecasts from leading technology experts about what life will be like in the year 2020.

Wearables, 3D printing, green tech, big data and other fields are covered, with contributions from experts including Salim Ismael (Singularity University); Saul Klein (Index Ventures); Gerd Leonhard (The Futures Agency); Shannon Spanhake (Deputy Innovation Officer, San Francisco), and even our own co-founder, Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten. The book is up for preorder on Kickstarter now, with an ebook version to be sent to backers before Christmas, and a print version to follow next year.
