YouTube plalylists now let you share specific clips inside of videos

YouTube plalylists now let you share specific clips inside of videos

If you’re a curator, meaning you watch YouTube videos all day long and like to share them with friends, Google has just released a feature that will get you excited.

As you know, you can add as many videos that you like to a playlist on YouTube. What you couldn’t do up until now was queue up a specific clip in a video and share it via a playlist.

Here’s what the YouTube team had to say about the addition today:

Many of you have told us that when making playlists, you sometimes want to include just a clip and not the whole video — like starting the video right at the dramatic moment or the crazy trick play. So, you can now choose start and end times for each video in your playlist using a trimmer in the same way you can with YouTube Editor. When you choose start/end times, your playlist viewers will only see your selected portion of the video, unless they choose to watch the video in its entirety.

If you want to pick that perfect spot in a video for your playlist, now you can. This also makes it possible to curate a new deeper playlist based on topics that interest you. For example, if you want to create a playlist of news clips about Facebook’s IPO, you can do so with the exact moments that you find interesting.

Along with this new feature, the playlist edit page has been give a revamp, which lets you change descriptions and information quickly:

These changes should be reaching all users over the next day or two, and if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go make a playlist of all of my favorite lines from The Big Lebowski.
