The move means that Rdio, which offers a catalog of over 12 million songs, is available in Europe for the first time. Plans are priced at €4.99 per month for Web-only access and €9.99 per month for Unlimited (Web and mobile) access. There’s a 7-day free trial for all new users.

Rdio is already available in the US and Canada, and launched in Brazil on 1 November. It now enters a European market which already has a number of established players. In Germany, current kingpin Spotify is yet to launch, but a ‘clone’ service, Simfy is filling the gap, and recently integrated with Facebook’s real-time sharing feature. French service Deezer recently launched there and Aupeo is a Berlin-based contender. Spotify also appears to have plans for a German launch, having recently placed job ads for staff in the country.
Rdio hasn’t announced any other European launches yet, with Australia the other country it has publicly set its sights on.
