Netflix finally adds offline mode for binging on the go

Netflix finally adds offline mode for binging on the go

Today is a glorious day — after months of rumors, Netflix has finally added offline viewing to its service.

The company today announced that it’s adding offline support for its iOS and Android apps for all of its members around the world.

According to Netflix, “many favorite streaming series and movies are already available for download, with more on the way.” Some of the content that’s ready to download includes Orange Is The New Black, Narcos and The Crown.

Downloadable content can be easily found via the new “Available for Download” category inside the app. When the option is available for an episode or movie, tap the download button like in the image below.

The help page for the feature indicates that you can choose between standard or high quality downloads, which comes in handy for devices with little storage.

Unfortunately there’s no word on an offline mode for desktop yet, but I’m probably not the only one who would love to see it happen.

If you don’t see the option yet, make sure to update to the latest version of the app, and have fun binging your life away.

Netflix is a free download for iOS and Android.
