“Quotabl.es: probably the coolest way to collect quotes.” You can quote me on that.

Quotabl.es is a simple elegant way to create a collection of your favorite quotes

Hits:

  • The app is gorgeous, worthy of storing your favorite quotes.
  • The bookmarklet is equally slick providing a quick and easy way to add a quote wherever you are on the web.
  • Awesome way to hook up with quote fiends to geek out over quotes. Did I just say “geek out over quotes”? I did.

Misses:

  • Wish there was a quick and easy way to embed quotes
  • Technically you could do all this with a standard notebook app like Evernote, but where would be the fun in that?

Overall: 4.5/5

The Details

I love quotes. I just wish I could remember half of the ones I love. Fortunately with Quotabl.es I might just have found a fun way to store and remember the ones I come across.

At its core, Quotabl.es is an nifty quick and simple way to collect quotes. It’s a beautifully designed web app that’s likely to inspire you to collect quotes even if you’re not one to normally do so. The social element of the app will make you want to do the same.

Like Flickr for photos, Quotabl.es homepage shows recently activity on quotes you’ve submitted, along with recently added and popular quotes from across the site. Quotes are organised by tags and so if you’re on the lookout for a couple of amusing ones to share with friends, a click on the “funny” tag should reveal a few.

Sharing quotes into the site is a breeze thanks to wonderfully minimalist bookmarklet. Each quote you share or discover on the site can be favorited, shared (into Twitter and Facebook), edited to correct/add further details, or added to a specific list of quotes you maybe working on.
