Photo leak reportedly shows Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL

Photo leak reportedly shows Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL

After finding out details on pricing and spotting the phone in a Nest ad, Android Police completed the trifecta today by snagging some actual photos of the devices themselves.

The images show the phones in an aluminum finish with the fingerprint sensor in the top right of the rear panel. The front features a 5.5-inch screen (for the Pixel XL) and a 5-inch screen for the smaller Pixel.

There’s not a whole lot we can gather from the images themselves, but the launcher on the right could offer clues into Google’s rumored plan to drop the ‘Nexus’ moniker on its flagship Android devices in favor of the ‘Pixel’ label. For now, it’s still an unconfirmed rumor, but a leaked launcher app from Google — one that’s nearly identical although devoid of the Nexus name — could offer further clues to Google’s plans for the Nexus brand.
